I saw you one morning, and thought you would go away,
“For he’s frail, how long can he stay?”
How wrong I was, for that day you braved the wind & rain,
And by the end of day you were still there;
I realized you were stronger than my hair,
So I tried to ignore you, but it was difficult not to stare;
A week went by, I realized you were bound,
And thought it was time to return you to your ground;
We had to say ‘bye,
As I lifted you, I thought I would cry;
Oh leaf that adorned my windshield wiper,
It’s easy to write a sonnet in thy honor;
But when it comes to losing a few pounds, I despair
Sigh, I say life is not fair.
